Well what can I say?
I just haven't felt like blogging much lately. Must be getting old or something. BUT, now I'm here I've got lots to tell ya.
Well the novelty of the pills soon wore off. At first it was OK having them wrapped up in
bread and butter but After I while I got wise and started eating just the good
stuff and leaving the pill. Mum and the
Bossman weren't too happy about that so they tried putting them in hot dogs but
I wasn't having any of that!
They tried other stuff too and that didn't work, I just don't like the flipping things, they
are too big!!!!
Mum came up with the bright idea of piercing them and
letting the gooey stuff inside come out and go onto bread and butter. That was working OK for a while but then I
decided I wasn't having any of that either and besides my itches started coming
back.
Mum spoke to the vet man and he said it was better that I
take the darned things whole then it would get into my system more slowly.
Now they were in a pickle cos I was being my very best 'stubborn'
ever!
They came up with the bright idea of covering them with
honey and putting them in my food. That
wasn't too bad for a few days then I started to be sneaky and lick off all the
honey and leave the pill behind.
I think by now though I had gone a bit too far. Mum and the Bossman were not happy with me
and they started cutting off my food supply unless I ate my pill. Well, I can be a stubborn cuss myself and if
they thought they were going to get the best of me they were in for a
surprise. Ha! I'd show 'em.
Well that didn't last too long cos my tummy was rumbling
something bad!
So now what to do?
Well, the Bossman came up with a solution. So this is how it goes........
Mum gets the pill out of the sealed packet.
Bossman dips it in the honey then calls me over. I have to sit in front of him and he opens
my mouth and puts the pill down my throat!
He tells me what a good boy I am, rubs my ears and then feeds me my
breakfast. Huh! The indignation of it! but at least I get to
eat straight away and they seem happy that I am getting my pill. And....the
itchies have gone away and my tummy hair is growing back in.
Mum kept telling me if I didn't take the pills then they
might have to give me the $45 dollar fix but that I wouldn't like that very
much. I am not sure what she means but
I think I don't want to find out either.
On the brighter side, Mum's friend Laura (and mine) came to visit
a couple of weeks ago. She's a cool
lady and Mum, her and the Bossman just chatted up a storm all weekend. She didn't stay long enough though. Mum wanted to show her all sorts of things
but they just ran out of time.
Then we got some really bad storms. Thunder and lightening all night long and it
did bad things to the electric thingies in the house. I assume it was bad cos Mum and the Bossman did a lot of cussing
and they had to send a lot of things away for repair and we had to get the TV
man out and the phone man too! Things
still aren't working right cos the internet keeps going off. Mum is making me do this in a Word doc first
so it doesn't get lost in hyperspace. I
know I don't want to have to type it all over again, it's hard on a dog's paws
you know!
It's the time of year here where we get the jumpy
things. They are brown and jump all
over the place. It sure isn't funny
when I'm out doing my business in the yard!
Mum doesn't like them either but she says at least they don't
sting! The grass is sure looking nice
though, Mum says it's all the rain we've been having.
She got a new birds feeder too that is supposed to keep the
pesky squirrels from eating the food.
Seems to be working for now and Mum is very happy about that.
So that's about all I have to tell y'all. So till next time......have a great summer.
